In Memory to My Mother
When I visited the old home place. (the other day)
Oh Mother dear how I missed your smiling face,
In your room stood a vacant chair
Oh mother how I missed you their.
Then I stepped into another room to hang up my hat,
Their I seen a picture hanging “twas†that of you and “Dadâ€
The thought of my childhood days came back.
Oh how well I do rember
It only seem just yesterday.
How fond and tenderly you would hold me in your lap,
When I was cross (would weep) and fret
How tenderly you would tuck me in a bed to sleep,
Now you have left this earthy home
And gone to Heaven with angels to roam
