Katie Man Dies of Heart Attack
NOBLE EMBERLIN, 51, owner of a store at Katie, died at 6:15 p.m. Sunday of a heart attack while en route to a Wynnewood hospital in an ambulance. He was stricken at the store. He was born and reared in the Katie community. He had operated a store there for a number of years. He was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness church in Elmore City. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Katie church with Rev. OLIN PARKEY of the Pentecostal Holiness church at Hennepin officiating. Burial at the Katie cemetery arranged by Yeary-Vaughn Funeral Home. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. LELA EMBERLIN of the home, one son NOBLE Jr. of Dallas, Texas; five daughters, SUE EMBERLIN of the home, Mrs. CLARENCE HENSLEY of Katie, Mrs. ELNORA TULEY of Hennepin, Mrs. DONNA EVANS of Pico, Calif., and DORIS EMBERLIN of Dallas, and eight grandchildren.

LELA ANTHONY EMBERLIN
Lela Anthony Emberlin, 93, of Katie, Okla., was born Oct. 21, 1905 to RILEY JACKSON and MYRTLE WATSON ANTHONY in Wynnewood. She passed away at the Grace Living Center at Wynnewood on Sunday, Feb. 14, 1999.
Lela grew up and attended school in Wynnewood. On Feb. 21, 1927, she married NOBLE DESMOND EMBERLIN in Wynnewood View. She was a homemaker, gardener, cattle rancher and cook at the Pauls Valley Health Care facility before retiring in the 1980’s. Lela was a member of the Katie Home Demonstration Club. Her hobbies included playing cards and dominos. The highlights of her life was her relationship with God, playing with her grandchildren and playing the piano and singing.
Mrs. Emberlin is survived by one son, NOBLE DESMOND EMBERLIN, Jr. of Seagoville, Texas; five daughters, CLARENE CHRISTIAN of Katie, BETTY ELNORA TULEY of Wynnewood, DONNA JEAN GWYN and DORIS JUNE SCOTT, both of Los Angeles, Calif., and GWENDOLYN SUE COTTRELL of Euless, Texas; one brother, LESLIE R. “MONK” ANTHONY of Chowchilla, Calif., 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Lela was preceded in death by her husband in 1957, and two brothers, OLEN ANTHONY and JAKE ANTHONY.
Funeral services are scheduled at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 18, in the Katie Victory Baptist Church in Katie with Bro. HERSHELL MORGAN officiating. Interment at the Katie Cemetery arranged by Wooster Funeral Home.
