Hi- yes, I just responded to your message on the other thread (San Fratello) - it should give you some insight as to my Emanuele side. Let me know if you have any connections!

Re: Looking for Emanuele's in Bronx
Hello. I just found the marriage record of my paternal great-grandmother. Her name was Maria Gagliani (Galliani, Galiano). She was born in 1865 and was from San Fratello, Sicily. On the certificate her parents are listed as Antonio Gagliani (Galliani, Galiano) and Marianna Vassi (Vasi). Maria may have been a sister to Arrico Gagliani and Anna Gagliani of San Fratello. Her immigration record of 6 August 1900 notes a cousin, Luigi Catanzaro and an aunt, Maria Mondello, already living in New York City. When I checked San Fratello records via the Family Search site for the time period, I found a marriage of a Carmelo Vasi to a Marianna Carbonetto. This couple appear to be the parents of Marianna (Vassi/Vasi) Gagliani (Galliani, Galiano). Do you know anything more on the Vasi family of San Fratello?
