This is so exciting. Where are you from?
Actually, my husband is the one who is related to the Emahisers. His grandmother was Eva who married Lemly Curtis Fulwider, Sr. I didn't know that Wesley had 3 other siblings and that he was an orphan. I'd like to know more about that. I also want to know how and what brought Wesley to this area? Do you know? And did the other siblings come with him? Wesley E. and Lillian (wife) are buried in the Brewster Cemetery. I have his birthdate at 2/17/1853. He died here on 1/25/1941. It's my understanding that there was a Mary (sister) Emahiser that died. When and how old, I don't know.
Did you know that Art had a small traveling circus? We have photographs of him with his animal act of dog and pony shows as well as with a bear. He seems to have been a very colorful character.
Our little library/historical society has information on the Emahisers that I have copied off. The librarian is a great resource for Brewster history. We also have photographs of Berte, Arthur and Eva but none of Mary.
I have talked with Thane a little bit. I would like to ask him if he wouldn't mind sharing what he has. It would be nice to have a written history. I guess I don't even know how he is related, except for the last name.
I have made the mistake of researching the Emahisers and Fulwiders at the same time. So forgive me if I get things a little mixed up and feel free to set me straight.
I would love to share information with you. I have to do most of my research in the summer. After school starts things get too busy to devote much time to it.
I look forward to hearing from you.
