Any chance that the ??? A., age 9, is Muhaldah "Hulda" Ann Elsberry? It could also be spelled Mahaldah. I saw in a world family tree that she was the daughter of Ayres. It has her birth as 1850.

My aunt says that her grandmother was the first non-native american girl born in Marshall county, IA. I'm not entirely sure which grandmother. This information seems to add up though as if she was that girl, she would have been born near 1850 and the first girl born in her family, which was one of the first in the area, though appx two years after their arrival.

Hi. I think we're working on related families. My great-grandmother was Olivia or Livvia Jackson Elsberry Slavens, sister of John Elgin Elsberry who moved from Missouri to North Dakota. They were the children of Andrew Jackson Elsberry and Sarah Green. I think Andrew Jackson Elsberry might have been the son of John R. Elsberry of Clark County, Kentucky and later Edgar County, Illinois, but I haven't been able to prove this connection--although I know Andrew Jackson Elsberry was born in Clark County, Kentucky and was living in Edgar County, Illinois at the time of the 1855 Illinois state census. I would be interested in trading information.

My John Greenlee born Dec. 14, 1844 was married to Catherine Dunckel March 25, 1866 in Clinton County, Iowa. Johns sister Melinda Greenlee was married to Ayers Elsberry, and lived in Boone, Iowa. Somewhere in my files I have several old pics from Boone, Iowa I believe of Melinda and Ayers. They were married in 1872. I have much info on the Greenlee family. Edward F. Dunckel was a brother to my Catherine Dunckel listed above. Edward was married to Sarah Elsberry. I also have much info on the Dunckel family. Catherine was my gggrandmother and is buried in a family plot in Rapid City, SD. John Greenlee is buried in Hot Springs, SD. I have a picture of Edward from abt 1882 as well, marked E F Dunckel, Butte, Montana.

Chad Johnson
Hot Springs, SD

Zebulon B. Elsberry - Paulding Co, GA

Am researching Zebulon B. Elsberry who married #2 Nancy Whitfield around 1887.
Their children:
1. Camilla b. Dec 1885 (1900 Census)
2. Julia b. Apr 1890 (1900 Census)
3. Patrick Henry b. Jan 1888 (1900 Census)

What is Zebulon's middle name - "B"?

Can anyone shed any light on this marriage?

Does anyone have marriage information for their children or where they are buried?

I have found a U.S. Veterans Gravesites, ca. 1775-2006 source which shows a Zebulon B. Elsberry - Confederate States Army - Birthdate: 21 Aug 1836 and Death date: 17 Apr 1902 - Burial: Mt. Moriah Bap. Church, Dallas, Paulding Co, GA.

Note: Not listed at Mt. Moriah Bap. Cemetery?

Note: Nancy is shown on the 1900 Rockmart, Polk Co, GA Census with her children and her sister; plus it states she is a "widow" when the source I found says Zebulon died 2 years later in 1902? Wonder what Nancy was doing in Rockmart? Does anyone know?

Note: Could there be 2 Zebulons?

Note: Nancy (Whitfield) Elsberry is buried at New Hope Cemetery - Dallas, Paulding Co, GA along with some of her Whitfield family - where are her children? There are several unmarked graves next to her grave site.

Any information would be appreciated.

Re: Elisha Webb

My ancestor James Webb (1790-1877) was married to Didama Townsend (1793-1857). James, Jeremiah, and Sarah Webb were the children of Elisha Webb born in North Carolina (1769-1850) died in Warren Co, TN, and Sarah Little (1760 - 1840).

The children of James and Didama were Robert L Webb (1810-1887), Mary "Polly" Webb (b 1812) my ancestor who was married to James Saffell and their family lived in Monroe County, TN, Ranson Pinkney Webb (1817-1855), James "Square Jim" Webb (1818-1902), Nettie Webb (1818-1820), Amos S Webb (born 1821), John B "Curl" Webb (1823-1900), Thomas Webb (1827-1863), Betsy Webb (born 1829), Didama Webb (1831-1889), and Cinderella Webb (b 1834).

I am trying to find more information on Elisha and Sarah Little Webb. Be careful in looking for their information. There is an Elisha Webb born in 1812 (I believe) in North Carolina (different wife) and Elisha Webb born 1822 who married Harriett Jane Little in Tennessee. Some people have gotten these 2 Elisha Webb's mixed up with ours.

There is also a Sarah Paralee Little who married George Isbell. Elisha & Sarah Webb are on my great-grandmother Cora Bruton's mom's side, and George & Sarah Paralee Little Isbell are on her dad's side. Talk about confusing. I hope someday to find a family connection between the 2 Sarah's.

Elizabeth,
I have done a little tracking of your Elsberry family through William Wilson Elsberry, son of Thomas, son of Ayers.
My interest lies with William's marriage to Emma May Reid. They were in or near Dixon or Knox counties, in Neb. They had a daughter, Pearl. William / Wilson and Emma divorced and Emma remarried, shortly after, to William H. Schenck and they moved out to Yakima Co., WA.
I have a photo of Emma and daughter Pearl Elsberry. I'd be interested to know what you know about William / Wilson and daughter, Pearl.
Carl T.
Elizabeth,
I'm a Reid descendant not an Elsberry descendant. Emma May Reid was a distant cousin to me. Her father and my GGG Grandfather were brothers. So, I'm kind of off on a tangent, here. While tracking down all of the descendants of my Reid family, I sometimes have to dig deep. No pun intended.
I'm trying to locate what happened to William W. Elsberry and Emma Reid's daughter, Pearl Elsberry. I know that Pearl moved west from Nebraska to Washington with Emma and her second husband, William H. Schenck, but I can't locate who she married or if she had children.
I have collected some Census info and cemetery info, etc. on this family, and I was wondering what you know.

Thanks for the reply!
Carl Musselman
http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/m/u/s/Carl-T-Muss...
