Responding to your request for info on families with Elsberry surnames. I am a decendant of William Nide Elsberry from the Elsberry/New Hope Missouri area. I have been told that we are of native american blood, however no one seems to have any idea what tribe. If you will e-mail me, I may have some information on the Elsberry family that will be of benefit to you.

Hi Bill. I hope we are talking about the same William Elsberry. My relative was born Nov.15, 1792 in Maryland, then his family moved to Elsberry/New Hope Missouri in the early 1800's. One of his sons is George Washington Elsberry, born Feb. 10, 1820. That would make him my great great grandfather. If you believe we are talking about the same person, I'd be happy to e-mail or fax you all the information I have on this family. Looking forward to hearing from you!
