I have an old newspaper from Bridgeton, NJ (February 1903) that has an article that mentions Craig Elmer in it. I thought his relatives on ancestry might be interested, so I've typed it up and plan to share.
The Telephone at W. J. S. R. R. Station
An item was printed in the News a few days ago in reference to the telephone station in the W. J. & S. R. R. station. Some misunderstood it to insinuate that it had been an annoyance to those in the office by the persons using the office’s phone. It was not intended to cast any reflection upon the employees of the office. On the contrary, Mr. Craig Elmer, the efficient and accommodating ticket agent, has always been very obliging to the patrons of the phone, and many times has actually inconvenienced himself in order to accommodate the public who have had occasion to use it.
