I have seen quite a few old postings on Ellams from Balsham but nothing recent. After a year of doing my maternal tree and I have turned my attention to my paternal tree. My maiden name is Curson and through various marriages I found myself related to the Ellams of Balsham. Richard and Mary Ellam were my 5 x Great Grandparents and their daughter Ann married Richard Rule my 4 x Great Grandfather.
I am struggling slightly as the IGI although appearing to have indexed Balsham's births and marriages from the mid 1550s there appears to be a lot of information missing. Although there are trees on the web which shows the Ellams back to the mid 1550s I do not wish to use someone else's hard fought work as my own and would love to be able to research the many branches of the Ellams.
I have downloaded what information I can find but the connects I can make fizzle out around the 1750s and I can only go by what others have posted around the early 2002s.
Can anyone tell me where I can download or buy the transcriptions of the Balsham parish records, I do not have a microfilm reader. I live in the Outer Hebrides so I am unable to visit the Cambridge FHS Centre. So any help would be appreciated.
Thank you Debbie
