May 29th 1870, my widowed great-great-great-grandfather Julien Lalonde married Marguerite Hildebrand, also a widow, in Saint-Andrews West, Cornwall Township. I gather that her name was a corruption of Elderbaum, and that her first husband may have been named Octave Schale (but my evidence is extremely flimsy).
A correspondent tells me that her parents may have been Sebastien Elderbaum/Hildebrand and Esther Roy.
Does this ring a bell with anyone?
