Classification: Birth
Surnames: Elarton
Jerial Elarton was my Grandfather ... yes Grandfather, not Great Grandfather. He died in 1916. He enlisted in the Union Army at the beginning of the War and served in Cairo, Illinois as a messenger boy at the Union Telegraph Office. For his service he received land near Atwood, Kansas where my Father, Warren James Elarton, was born in 1886. My Father died in 1947 when I was 4 years old. All the Elartons of which I've ever heard were descended from a William Elarton of Virginia, which is now West Virginia, and who migrated to Ohio in the early 1800's, then moved on to Hillsboro, Iowa. I can give you more information in an email if you so desire. Good luck, Don Elarton, PrairieCal@aol.com.
