I looked in my recently discovered Ela Genealogy book and found on:

page 17, #23. Israel (5) Ela, (israel 4, israel 3, Samuel 2, Israel 1) born at haverhill, 1770, married Zebiah Martin, Hooksett, N.H., where he settled, and died May 21, 1853. They had children:
ii. Susan, born Jan. 7, 1797, married Isaac Abbot of Concord, N.H.; had thirteen children - two pairs twins.

and

page 18, #26. Enos (5) Ela (Israel 4, Israel 3, Samuel 2, Israel 1) born at Goffstown, N.H., married Betsey martin. Settled in Goffstown, N.H., they had children:
iii. Ruth, married Hazen Abbot, Concord, N.H.

I hope this helps! Good luck searching! :) Karen

the name of the book is "ELA FAMILY GENEALOGY". The first page says:
GENEALOGY
OF THE
ELA FAMLY
DESCENDANTS
OF
ISRAEL ELA,
OF
HAVERHILL, MASS.
COMPILED BY
REV. DAVID HOUGH ELA, D.D.

And is small print at the bottom ....

Elwood S. Ela, Printer
Manchester, Conn.

A bit dramatic, but I wanted you to get the feel of the book.
It is hard cover and the preface is from David Ela, Hudson, Mass., (or 38 Broomfield St., Boston, Mass.) August, 1896.

There are no other printer names or dates. And, yes, I imagine somewhere down this line we must be related somehow/someway. I will check on how your line goes and get back to you.

Not sure if you're still on here, but you and my husband are distantly related. His line goes from Israel Ela to Samuel, to Israel, to Israel, to Enos, to Ruth Ela who married Hazen Abbott. You can find Ruth Ela on page 18 in the book mentioned below - Genealogy of the Ela Family Descendants of Israel Ela of Haverhill, Mass.
