Hello Judi,
Would love to share notes on Conway NH Ela family. I have David Hough Ela's family history and in the intro he suggests that there were two Ela families in Conway NH during the late 18th- early 19th century, and that the clan who settled in Fryeburg aren't related to Israel Ela but instead descend from a Joseph Healy of Dunbarton. No other notes on this and I haven't found any Joseph Healys in Dunbarton so it's a puzzle.
Complicating matters is that both Conway Ela clans moved to Oxford County (mine to Fryeburg, the other to Brownfield.) This is a curious coincidence. Another is that Conway's Jonathan (Israel>Israel>Samuel>Israel)had a son named Jonathan born 7/26/1806 with no further mention in David Hough Ela's book; my John was born about 5/06/1806 also in Conway. I haven't found any record of this John's parents.

Do you have any VRs for Ela's in Conway in the early 1800s?
