Hello Cousin!!
Yes, your George Eklund is my George Eklund!!!! I am speechless!! I would love to share with you all I have found on the family. I have traced them in the Finnish Church records back to 1752. My grandmother, Agnes Ingrid (Eklund) Thunquist was George's sister. I had no idea that George had decendents. I only found out about George in 2004, when I started my family search. I was told he had never married (from my Uncle Pat, as my Dad had passed away in 2003). I was shocked when I obtained George's death certificate to see he was married. That is how I know we are family, as his wife's name was listed as Saana! I can send you copies of his death certificate if you are interested, he is buried in Ferncliff Cemetery in Hartsdale, NY. I would love to see any photos you might have, and I am happy to share photos I have of George and his siblings. His brother Karl (Charles) lived in Millinocket, ME, his sister Elsa Anna Erika (Anna) lived in the Bronx, as did George, my grandmother Agnes Ingrid lived in Queens and then Riverhead, NY, and there was a brother Albert Bruno who lived in Manhattan, but I lose him just before 1904 and I assume he died because his wife was remarried by the 1905 census. There were 2 other children who stayed in Finland, as well as a sister who died as an infant. Where are you located? I live in Suffolk County on Long Island. My father had 3 brothers, two who had no children and his oldest had a daughter. I have an older sister. If you would like to contact me privately, you can email me at

Your cousin,
