Jerry: Hi, this is Judy Magill.......you sent me a reply a while back in regards to Harold G. Ekdahl. Sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you, but I've been working on several lines of my family that have been Brickwalls for the last 15 years. The Harold Ekdahl I'm referring to had either the middle initial of C. or G., but I couldn't decipher which it is from it's source, the marraige license application he and my mother filed in Will County in October 1962. I do know that Harold ? Ekdahl had at least 2 sons from a previous marraige, and one is a Jr. Both he and this son also went by the name Harry as well. Harold Sr. worked for the E J & E Railroad in Joliet (also called the "J") and his mother was still alive about 1963-1965. I remember her as having a heavy Swedish accent and being quite elderly at the time. Harold Sr. also owned a home on Janice Avenue in Lockport Illinois when he and my mother were married. I went to live with my father in Indiana in about 1963 or so and the last time I saw Harold Sr. was at my mother's funeral in March 1968.....apparently she left Illinois about 1966 and moved to Corpus Christi, Texas (Neuces County) where she died. I'm still going in circles with the !!!!'s at the Will County Clerk's Office, trying to track down the date of my parent's divorce, which is SUPPOSED to be somewhere in/on her marraige license application to Harold Ekdahl. They claim that information is at the state level, and records from 1962 may be "lost" somewhere between the two agencies.....I know you need to show proof of a previous divorce, but this mess is making me nuts. Good Luck! Sincerly, Judy Magill <
