I am looking for information on my great grandmother, Hilda Ekberg who married Carl Norman. They were the parents of 4 children, Gustav, Edwin, Hilda and another child, the eldest, who died in infancy. They came over from Sweden during the last 1/2 of the 19th Century. Carl died in 1967? and my great grandmother in the 1930's? She was very sick. They lived in NY City , then moved to Pearl River, NY.

Hilda Ekberg was, I believe, my father's cousin or aunt. Ed Norman, her son, lived in Pearl River as did I and I knew him when I was a child. He and my father were either cousin's or second-cousins. My father's name was August Rudolph Ekberg and was the son of John and Beda Ekberg who lived in the Throgs Neck section of the Bronx.
I would like to hear from you.

I am so excited that someone answered me!! Hello cousin! My name is Kris Ryan and I am 30 years old. My mother was June Norman Ryan. She died in 1977. Her father, my grandfather, was Edwin Norman from Pearl River. He died in 1981 at the age of 77. His sister, also Hilda, just died in September. She was approximately 95 years old. Her death is what sparked my interest in finding out about her family's lineage. My sister and I, along with Edwin's son, Edwin Roger, my uncle, and his family, are the only living decendents of Edwin. I thought it would be neat to try and trace back both sides of my family. I remember lots of Ekbergs from my youth, Gladys married Bill Ekberg who was Edwin's cousin, I think. Both are deceased. They had 3 sons, I think, and one of them was named Eric. If you have any more info about the Ekbergs or Norman's, I am relly interested in knowing all I can. Are you looking for your lost relatives, too? Somewhere down the line, we must share Great-great...grandparents!

Dear Kris,
I never thought that you might be June's daughter. She was my second-cousin and when we were young our parents were friends. I remember Roger, too. We used to visit them at their home on John St., but somewhere along the way we lost track, though I do remember the day when I heard that your beautiful mother had died. That was the last time I talked to your grandmother Corinne but I have thought about all of them often over the years.
I also knew your father Mickey, but not very well. We were in high school at the same time but I don't remember what class he was in.
My uncle Bill died many years ago and Gladys passed away sometime in the past few years. I am not in contact with their sons, but think I could find them for you. My uncle Al has also been gone a long time and uncle Eric died about three or four years ago. They're wives are long gone, too. Both my parents are also gone.
Why don't you contact me by regular e-mail as I don't know how private this web site is. I can probably help you find many more of your second and third cousins.
