Charles (Charlie) Ekburg was my grand dad (and my name sake). August (Gus) was his brother.
Charlie was married to Beda Ekburg (johansson) and had three children.

I have a ton of info if you have specific questions.

Chas.

Old post but maybe still active.

Could this be August? I need info for a Gust Ekberg died and buried in Wyoming. He married Hilma Christena [Assarsson] Sandquist about 1903-1909 according to Wyoming Vital records.

If you have info let me know please.

I don't have specific info on this today, but will look into it. The person who replied to my post in 2010 would likely have more info.

Surnames: Ekburg
August and Charles Ekburg (with a "u")operated a gold mine in La Plata Canyon, La Plata County, Colorado from about the turn of the 20th century, to about early WWII, when they moved to Durango, Colorado.

August's second wife was Signe Ekburg-? (no name on first wife, she died during the 1917? flu epidemic) His only daughter was from his first wife.

Charles' wife was Beda Ekburg-Johansen, a mail-order bride from Texas. She died in 1953?

August had one daughter Elvira Ekburg-Alexander and Charles had three off-spring, Evelyn Ekburg-Asher, Edwin Ekburg and Verner Ekburg; all now deceased.

To find more detail I would have to access the family archives... let me know what is needed.

Charlie
