Well it looks like you last posted over 10 years ago, but I thought I would give it a shot. I am trying to put together my family history. I had a grandfather named Eric (possibly mispelled as Erick or Erik who lived in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He had three brothers named Gunnar, George, and Harold. I believe his wife's name was Christina Ek. It would likely have been around the same time period. Any information would help. Thanks!

Would you happen to have any information re: an Anders Johan Ek who immigrated in 1903 with his brother Mauritz Wilhelm Ek? Anders Johan became "John" Ek... I am having a heck of a time tracing him back to Sweden and I have zero information re: his parents....

I am also family with Anders Ek born in Sala 12 January 1799. His mum was Greta Cajsa Fagersten born in Aakerby. Anders father is unknown, since he was born outside marriage.
Cajsa later gor married to Alf Baatsman Fagersten but is listed as a widow from year 1806. Anders was Cajsas only child and when she get older she lives with him and his family. She dies from age 19th of october 1832.
Anders was a miner in Sala. He got married to his first wife Anna Berg born 17th of august 1819. Anna Berg died 1828, the same year he married the maid Anna Jahlberg born 30th of september 1800. She moved to him together with her two sons born outside marriage, Per Eric born 1824 in Sala and Carl Reinhold born 1826 in Sala.
Anders and Anna Jahlberg got 3 kids together:
Christina Catharina Ek born 16th of june 1829 Sala
(she is the one I am family with)
Anders Gustav born 1831
Johan August born 1835

This is all I know. Who are you family with? I hope this was usefull for you.

Best regards

Hello,
If you are still active on Ancestry, my Grandmother was Hildur EK, born in 1894 in Gronahog. Her father was August Ek, b. 1860; her mother was Emma Josefsdotter, b.1858. There were 7 children of August and Emma: Edith, Erik, Signe, Ivar, Hildur, Ebba and Sven.

I'd be interested to know if you have any research corresponding to these Ek's.
Regards,
Barbara Galli
