I am researching the EJZAK family from
Charciabalda, Poland (75 miles N of Warsaw).
Our branch of the tree starts with Frank,
married to Marianna PIOKOWSKI from nearby
Surowe. They moved to Pittsburgh, PA in early
1900, and most descendants still live nearby.
If any EJZAKs living in CT or IL believe they
are related, please contact me. I will share
what info I have.

We may be distant cousins

The 1920 Pittsburgh census shows MARY EJZAK, wife of Paul Ejzak, living about 3-4 doors away from Marian and Elizabeth BLOCKI. Address of 114 and 116 24th Street. Elizabeth and Mary were sisters - Maiden
name Molska \ Molski.. Elizabeth had a first child Eleanor, who married Andrew Malkowski in Detroit. Witness to the wedding was Helen Ejzak. 3 rd child of Paul and Mary Ejzak. The 2nd child of Paul and Mary, was
Cecillia, who entererd the HOLY Family of Nazereth Convent at age 14 in Pittsburgh. Her religious name was Sister Lauraine. She died may 26 1993. (I have obituary)

Cecilia was joined in the convent by her 1st cousin Helen Blocki (6th Child of Blocki / Molska) She took the religious name of Sister Martha. (I Also have this Obit.) Both nuns frequently traveled together to Detroit to Sister Marth's parents.

I stopped in Pittsburgh in Nov 99 doing research. On Blocki Family. Since the 1960's when I was in college, I was familiar with the name Helen Ejzak, but never understood the link. During this, my 1st research trip to Detroit, I discovered the link.

I was about to begin working on the Ejzak line, when I found your message.

Children of Paul and Mary Ejzak whic I can identify are:
1) Unknown (abt 1898) 2) Cecilia 9Aug 1899 3) Helen (abt 1902) 4) Frank 20 Feb 1905 5) Jack 6 Jly 1907 6)Ann 29 Oct 1909 7) Joseph 19 Mar 1913 Children # 8, # 9 and # 10, unknown at this time,. Haven't had time to research as yet. I am reasonable sure there were a total of 10 children.

Hope to hear from you. Ejzak is not a common name, and easier to search..

I am interested in Russian Poland info. I am having difficulity tracing back into Poland. Usually I brick wall against Russian Poland as point of departure rather then a city.

Do you have any information tracking Helen Ejzak or her parents / Family?

I live in Frederick, Maryland. - 50 miles east of Baltimore and 50 miles north of Washington DC. Approximate point where interstate 70 E to Baltimore and I-270S to DC intersect

I just read the posting by Eugene Malkowski, dated April 16, 2000.

I am a great-grandchild of Maryan(Marian) and Elizabeth (Molska) Blocki. My grandparents were Frank W. and Jessie L. Blocki of Detroit. I am just beginning my search for my family heritage! It sounds like you have some background on the Blocki family, and I would love to see what you have so far. I am new to the geneology research area and am learning what I can from the internet.

I currently live in Royal Oak, MI. and can be reached at marybeth.macdonald@gm.com.
Thank you,
Mary Beth

I believe we are 1st cousins once removed

Looking for some possible links to my father-in-law who was born in Czarnia, Poland to Jan Ejzak and Rosalia Dabrowska. Jan would have been born in late 1800's. Do you see any link to your Frank?

Sorry it took so long for me to reply. I haven't much time for research lately. I believe your Paul EJZAK is a brother to my Frank EJZAK. Helen EJZAK Poleski lived in the Lawrenceville section of Pittsburgh near our family. She died on November 25, 1994, according to a funeral card I have. I don't really know too much else. If I come across other info I will pass it along.

Most likely there is some kind of relationship. I have not come across Jan Ejzak or Rosalia, but will keep them in mind. The town you mention is very close (within 5 miles) to the towns Frank Ejzak (Charziabalda) and Mary Piorkowska (Surowe) came from in Poland.
Where did Jan settle in this country? Are his decendants still living there, as well?
We are all located in Pittsburgh, PA. We have a family reunion every year in August.
Sorry for the delay in responding.
Lynn

reply to Lynn Ejzak message...
Our Jan Ejzak did not immigrate to US. His son, Frank, did however and settled in Chicago. I believe there were relatives in Pittsburg area though, just don't know the connection. Possibly cousins to Frank.

Thanks for your offer of help. If Stanley and his family are interested in our common ancestors, please have them contact me. We don't know a whole lot about pre-1900, but are gathering all we can. Thanks
