I'm researching my grandmother's surname, Ejsmont. It's a very unique name, and I've not had luck in finding any information on it. Here's the basic info that I have so far:
John Kishalefski married Helena Unknown in or around Poland and had Stephania (my great grandmother).
Stephania Kishalefski married Wallace Jasiulewicz about 1905 and had 3 daughters. Wallace died and Stephania married Waclaw/Vaclav Ejsmont sometime between 1907and 1911 in Wilkes Barre, PA. They had 2 children Stephanie (my grandmother) and Frank. Stephanie married Joseph Nestor in Wilkes Barre and had 5 children: Caroline, Joseph, John, Raymond, Christine. Frank was killed during a rumored "gang" shootout in Wilkes Barre, PA in 1946.
I am unable to find out information on Waclaw Ejsmont. I do know they were Polish and spoke polish. The marriage certificate of my grandmother states Stephania (her mother) was from Poland. Where is unknown, but they were rumored to be, from family history, from Galicia.
Any information on Ejsmont's would be very much appreciated. It may not make much sense now, but as i get more information, i can piece it all together.
I'm not a professional, just a 30 something eager to find my family history for my brothers and my dad. Hope to hear from anyone with any knowledge. :) Thanks!
