Hello Halina,
Thank you so much for your reply. I am happy for any information you have and hope we are related! I spoke with Adeline Kosmala, the daughter of Mary Ann Ejchost and she provided me with some family history. Here is the information I have on my great grandmother's family. She was born in 1889, possibly in Slesin. Her parents were Stanislaw Ejchost and Eleanor Lepczynski. Stanislaw left his family in Poland and came to Buffalo NY in 1892. I found him in the 1910 census. As far as I know, he never returned to Poland and his family did not join him in Buffalo. Stanislaw and Eleanor had three daughters. Helen born abt 1886 stayed in Poland. Kazmiera (my great grandmother) born in 1889 and came to Chicago with her husband Ignatz Kubiak in 1904. They had 8 children, all born in the US. My grandfather Stephen was the oldest of the 8. Their youngest daughter was Mary Ann, born in 1892. She also came to Chicago around 1910 and married Albert Kosmala. They had 4 children.
This is all the information I have on the Ejchost family. I have even less information on the Kubiak family. All I know is that my great grandfather Ignatz was born Kunine Russia n 1879. I don't have any information on his family but in looking at the census records, it is possible he had a brother Joseph who came to the US at the same time as him.
I hope this helps. Any information you have would be wonderful. I look forward to hearing from you.
Patricia
