Bonnie Mae Moreland, a resident of Minneapolis, passed away Friday, March 27, 1981 at the Ottawa County Hospital.
Bonnie was the daughter of Charles W. Eikelberger and Reva C. Shoemaker Eikelberger. She was born November 25, 1928 on a farm near Minneapolis.
She graduated from Minneapolis High School, attended the University of Kansas and graduated from Marymount College. She taught at Bennington High School prior to her marriage to John C. Moreland in 1957. He preceded her in death in 1973 and she returned to Minneapolis that same year from Ulysses. She was also preceded in death by one son Mark.
Bonnie was a member of the Free Methodist Church, Women's Missionary Society and the Quest Club.
She is survived by two sons, Brian of Wichita and Dana of Minneapolis; two daughters, Melissa and Susan Moreland, both of Minneapolis; her parents, Charles Eikelberger and Mrs. Reva Eikelberger, both of Minneapolis; three sisters, Mrs. Betty Trout of Minneapolis, Mrs. Connie Ginest of Lakin and Mrs. Linda Galgerud of Minneapolis.
Funeral services were held Monday, March 30, 1981, 2:00 p.m. at the Free Methodist Church in Minneapolis with the Rev. Fred Hobson officiating. Vocalists were Charles Atkinson and Ralph Campbell and organist was Mrs. Jim Bruce. Casket bearers were Jim Bruce, Jim Kay, Leland Logan, Ford Comfort, Jerry Ayers, and Mendal Kugler.
Interment was in Bennington Cemetery. Shields Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
The family suggests memorials to the Ottawa County Hospice or the Free Methodist Church.
