BETTY JANE TROUT
Betty Jane Trout was born August 12, 1926 at Minneapolis, the daughter of Charles and Reva Shoemaker Eikelberger. She departed this life on Saturday, October 10, 1992 at Asbury-Salina Regional Medical Center, having reached the age of 66 years 1 month and 28 days.
Betty graduated from Minneapolis High school in 1944 and worked as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell from 1945 to 1962.
She was united in marriage to Rodney J. Trout on September 4, 1949 at Minneapolis. All their married life was spent in Minneapolis. They opened the Silhouette Shop in 1955 and Betty actively operated the business until her death.
Betty was a member of the Minneapolis Chamber of Commerce and the Veterans of Foreign wars Auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband Rodney of the home; her son R.J. Jr. of Salina; her daughter Cathy Albert of WaKeeney; her father Charles Eikelberger, Minneapolis; sisters Connie Ginest, Lakin and Linda Galgerud, Minneapolis; 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by her mother Reva Eikelberger and her sister Bonnie Moreland.
Services were held October 13, 1992 at the First Presbyterian Church in Minneapolis with Rev.. Larre Eschliman officiating. Vocalists were Brett and Rosie Prochaska. Jeane Hemenway was the organist.
Casket bearers were Tracy Kriegh, Mike Perry, Jeff Albert, Jerry Shoemaker, Bob Bergman and DeWayne Coffman. Interment was in Highland Cemetery. Arrangements were by Shields Funeral Home.
The family suggests memorials to the Ottawa County Hospital in Minneapolis.
