CHARLES W. EIKELBERGER
Charles W. "Ike" Eikelberger, the son of Charles H. and Lizzie Stauffer Eikelberger, was born April 16, 1902 on a farm near Culver. He departed this life on Friday, November 19, 1993 at the Minneapolis Good Samaritan Center at the age of 91 years 7 months and 3 days.
He was united in marriage to Reva C. Shoemaker. She preceded him in death on January 10, 1992. The family moved to Minneapolis in 1936 from the farm. Ike continued to farm and worked as a mechanic at the International Harvester dealership in Minneapolis for many years.
Survivors include two daughters, Connie Ginest of Lakin and Linda Galgerud of Minneapolis; two brothers, Herbert of Sparks, Nevada and Fred of Auburn, California; two sisters, Edna Cramton of Tescott and Bertha Keeler of Raton, New Mexico; 11 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Betty Trout and Bonnie Moreland, and by eight brothers and sisters.
A funeral service was held Monday, November 22, 1993 at Shields Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Moore officiating. Vocalist was Charles Atkinson and Melba Bruce was the organist.
Casket bearers were Jeff Albert, R.J. Trout, Joe Walle, Dan Albert, Chad Ginest and Jay Walle. Interment was made in Bennington Cemetery.
The family suggests memorials to the Minneapolis Good Samaritan Center or the charity of the donor's choice.
