Hi!
Ola Andreas Knutson Eide (1816-1868) and Brita Hallvardsdotter Brommeland (1818-1842) from Sand, Ryfylke, Norway are my great great great grandparents. They got 7 children together. 5 of their children emigrated to the USA:
1) Bertha Olsdatter Eide, birth 1843, married Johannes (John) Nilssen Moe. They are mentioned in this thread.
2) Endre Olsen Eide (1846-1936) married Stine Kathrine Ellingsdatter Hetland (1854-1907). Endre and Stine are my great great grandparents. They emigrated in 1881, and they first came to Norway, Illinois. Then they were living in Ellsworth, Hamilton County, Iowa, but also in the area of Astoria or Portland, Oregon. Their American names were Stine and Andrew O. Eade. When they emigrated they got 4 children, Bertine (Bertha) birth 1873, Anna Karine birth 1875, Ole Andreas (Arthur O Eade) birth 1878 and Elen (Eleanor) birth 1880. Anna Karine is my great grandmother, she did not go with her parents and siblings to America. Stine and Andrew got at least 5 children in the US, Margareth, Edward, Martha, Belle and Mae. The obituary of Andrew says there were 10 children in the marriage, I can just find 9.
3) Knut (Knute Eide) , birth 1849, married Anna Johannesdatter Haavarstein. They emigrated 1880, and were living in or near Ellsworth/Webster City, Iowa. Knute got children, I am not sure of all the names but maybe it could have been Archie, Joe, John, Yudell and Garett Eide?
4) Martha, birth 1851, married Samson Joannessen Hovland, emigrated 1880.
5) Bertha Oleana, birth 1864, emigrated together with Knute and Martha in 1880.

So, Bertha O (Eide) Moe got 2 brothers and 2 sisters in the area Illinois/Iowa when she emigrated with her children.

It would have been interested to make contact with descendants of Bertha and John Moe, because we have the same Norwegian ancestors. My great grandmother Anna Karine grew up in Norway, she did never meet her parents, brothers and sisters again.
