Hi, I am an Eibert in San Diego.
I was born in Gouverneur, NY. My father was
John Newton Eibert, he was born in Ky in
1918. His father came from eastern europe
and came to America with an orchestra to perform at the 1904 St Louis Worlds Fair.
Does anyone know where the Eibert's came
from in europe! My dad did have one older
sister, Barbara Eibert Weber who resided in
Downers Grove, Ill for most of her life.

I also have Eiberts in our family. My grandmother's sister, Margarete Haufe married Max Eibert. They lived in Germany

Hi Roy!
This is your cousin Madelynn (nee Janson) in St. Louis, Missouri. I came upon this message by accident as I was exploring at school. You need to contact my brother Frank Janson (sewereng@aol.com). He has a lot of well documented information of the family that he eill be glad to share. He does need information on your branch--your brothers, sisters, their children and grandchildren. He would really appreciate and info you could give him.
So how are you all? Are you still in San Diego? How is the family? All is well here--Dan and I just celebrated 33 years together. Both Anna and Jack are married. Jack and his wife are in St. Louis. Anna, husband David and two kids are in Jefferson City, Missouri. Not much new here--but as always you all are welcome to visit and catch up on old times. Frank and I live next to each other so you'll get two for the price of one! How goes it with Faye and her family--catch me up on all the details. It's just so hard to think that the little girl you took walking has children now that are older than she was then!
Take care--love to you and yours,
Sincerely,
Madelynn Janson Kennebeck

Surnames: Eibert
Hi Roy!
I'd have to do a lot more digging to see if or how we're connected, but I am an Eibert whose family is also from New York. The immigrant ancestor is Tobias Eibert (b. 1846 d. 1934) buried in Otisco, NY. I would have to look what year he came across on a boat (prior to WWI I'm pretty sure). It's tough once you go back to Germany, where he came from, as some of the first names change and it's also tough because our name is a old frisian word for "Stork".

That's about all I know at the moment.

Married into the St.Louis,MO Eiberts (Edward, brother to Helen & Barbara.)Other relatives lived in Romania 'til they could immigrate.I recall a boy who also left-went to work for a company that built cars. All of this info is very, very old. Hope this helps some.As far as I know, all the Eiberts I know of have diedy. There are probably cousins somewhere.More questions? I'll try to think up more info. Barbara married a Claude.(don't recall last name.Helen married someone from the old country. She died-she was very young. Their mother's bro lived in Romania'til he could leave.Family visited them in Romania when they could.

omania until they were allowed to immigrate. (Idon't recall where they went).I have a daughter who visited them in Romania, but that has been a very long time time ago.Seems to me that a boy who immigrated went to worked at a car building company.
