Central Texas Eibens, Coupland especially!

Surnames: Eiben
My mother is an Eiben; Ricklef Eiben (Folkert's twin brother) was my Great-Great Grandpa. I am currently working on a family tree that I started due to a newspaper article that caught my eye regarding 2nd Lt Donald John Matocha being flown back to Smithville. In reading the article I found that his nephew Marine Maj S Eiben would accompany him. I figured we had to be related considering Eiben is not that common of a name. I also have some of the other names in our family in my tree. As of today my tree has 305 people in it (that includes some of my dad's side). Please contact me so that I can fill in missing information about my family!!!!!!

Hi, Kristin: I'm sorry I haven't checked the message board in a LONG time. I just read your post. My maternal grandfather was Ricklef Eiben of Coupland; my maternal grandmother was Clara Marie Wernli Eiben. My mother is Ruth Clara Eiben Kennedy. My mom is still alive, age 82, but she is in the medium stages of Alzheimer's. I would love to correspond with you and find out more about what you have discovered. Who are your parents? Fill me in!

Your mom, then, is my great great aunt! I met her for the first time at Aunt Selma's 90th birthday party. You may have also heard of me by my first name, Layla. My momma is Hope, who is Andrew's daughter, who is Alwin's son, who is Ruth's brother and Ricklef and Clara's son. Were you at the party? My cousin Kim was taking pictures of everyone when they came in and I have one picture of your mom and a young couple with her, I do not know who they are though. I think it is who she came to the party with. My home email is hamilton3@ev1.net, please feel free to contact me there! Talk to you soon! Kristen/Layla

I'm sorry I have not checked the message board in a very long time. The Marine Major in the newspaper article is my son, Stacy L. Eiben, son of James A. Eiben, grandson of Alfred H. and Anne (Kalich)Eiben, great-grandson of Folkert H. Eiben, all from Copeland, Texas. I would very much like to visit with you. Alfred H. Eiben's sister, Lydia Eiben Ging had son Gilbert, who had daughters. Also,
I have Alfred H. and Anne Eiben family tree, since my husband, James, was the second of their 5 children. You may already have this info. Best Regards, Loretta
