Am so glad to find the Eiben surname message board in hopes of also finding German town of origin, but more specifically, U.S. state and town of residence. My husband's grandfather, Falkert Herman Eiben came to Coupland,Texas in the 1920's or early 30's from NE United States, but I have little info. to know exactly which state, or who his parents were.Am searching. Any help is appreciated.

I just stumbled upon the Eiben information while attempting to help my father-in-law with some geneology. My maiden name is Eiben and I am from West Haven, Connecticut. My father and grandfather were both named Henry Eiben. My grandfather only had sisters and I don't know any information about male cousins carrying the Eiben name. My aunt in Florida has done most of the geneology for the family and would know more. Please contact me if there is any specific info. about our branch of the family that you are interested in. Nice to hear from other Eibens!!

Janice: My mother is still living (age 77) and she was an Eiben from Coupland, Texas. She still lives very near there. Her father was Rickliff Eiben who came here from Switzerland I think in the 20's. They lived on a farm in Coupland and his wife's name was Clara Marie Wernli Eiben. They had five children, of which my mom is the only survivor. Do you think we're related? I remember that Grandpa Eiben had a twin brother that died. Could it be him? Please contact me. I would love to talk.

Hi again, Loretta. I just talked with my Mom and confirmed that her father's twin brother was named Falkert. He lived on a farm adjoining my mother's family's farm in Coupland. Rickliff's father was Otto Harms Eiben from Germany. They immigrated from Germany to Illinois and then came (we think by covered wagon) to Coupland. I hope you get this and we can correspond.

Janice: My mother was an Eiben. Her father was Rickliff Eiben and her mother was Clara Marie Wernli Eiben. They immigrated to Illinois and then moved to Coupland, Texas, where they settled and farmed and raised five children. Their descendants still live in the old farm place. my mother is still alive. Just thought you might be interested in other Eibens.

Gerd was the brother of my grandmother. I remember him well when he came back to visit in Nebraska. I also remember my great-grandfather, Cornelius. I would like to contact you and find out some info.
