Just discovered this is one of my lines (husband's) and the fact that there are so many lists under various spellings seems unfortunate. I have found the name for the family spelled the four ways above and more. My husband is a descendant of Mary "Polly" Eib and her husband Henry Baston sometimes Henry Boston. Polly was a daughter of Jacob Eib and Catharine Carpenter. I am tracing her decendants now, she had 15 children. Collateral lines include Ashwell, Bumgardner, Dilion, Himes Hymes, Gibson, Prather, Current, Craig and others.

I just finished reading the book on the EIBs in America. There is a Polly Eib listed as the wife of a Henry Boston. Book is by Gerald Baird. If you can find the book you can find some answers for your search.

Does anyone have any info on a William (Bill) Alexander Eib marrying a Duval i am looking for her first name, the ref I found in the book didn't have her first name. They had a son Claude Duval Eib (b.1894 d. 1960).

Polly Boston is my great great great aunt. I have a letter from Polly and Henry Boston sent to my gg grandfather, her nephew, Jacob Eib in July 1835 from their home in Danville, Illinois. The letter is signed Henry and Polly Boston (spelled Boston). I could email you a PDF file of the original letter and a copy of my Word doc of the letter in which I have "translated" most of the faded and difficult to read letter; just let me know.

I'm look for information on my grandfather (dad's father). His birth name was Claude Marion Eby born July 18, 1912.

I have a copy of the marriage certificate between my great-gram and great-gramp (his parents). Their names were Pearl R. Morrow and Claud M. Eby. They were married in Umatilla County in Oregon.

I'm having difficulty because my great-grandmother had her 2nd husband adopt my grandfather when she remarried and they had him begin using the name Marvin Marion Cannell (and it was eventually legally changed).

Anyways, I only have a name for my great-grandfather: just the Claud M. Eby and that he had a child (my grandfather) in 1912.

If anyone has possible information, I would love to chat with you. Thanks!

That spelling and area do not sound familiar to my family tree. The majority of the Eib(es) settled in the California area from what I have been told by an uncle/cousin several years ago. I feel for you Cannell because my father was also adopted later on in life by his stepfather and it has been next to impossible to track down much in the way of actual records without any money to spend on it...maybe someday.

jonesfamily3773,
I am doing research on Polly Eib Boston and would love to receive a copy of the letter you referred to in your 25 Feb 2013 message. Please let me know if that is possible.
