Thanks. If you search Rootsweb's World Connect for "Benedict Savin" you will see me listed as dsbrooks1.
If you click up the Savin generations you will arrive at the ancestor I'm stuck on, John Savin, born circa 1780 and lived in Warwick area of the 1st Election District of Cecil County, MD.. which is the same town they lived on down to my grandfather who finally "immigrated" one county west. I say I am not "directly" related in that there is no proven link between my Savin line and the one in your tree. I am certain they are related because of a number of reasons but one good connection is I have a DNA link tested between a male descendant of Thomas L Savin (who is in your lineage) and a male Savin descendant in my line.
The trail went dead in my line for a couple reasons. One, a church (St Augustine's Episcopal) in the 2nd election district of Cecil Co, MD, where my ancestors lived burned in the 19th century with records. Also my ancestor, Johh's father, apparently didnt generate any legal records (land ownership, probate etc...) or had an unusual family arrangement as far as my research has revealed.... still searching. Our Savin lines likely join one or two more generations back from John.
Unless a researcher has linked into a cache of private correspondence, a long-lost family Bible, or a newly indexed contemporary publication (newspapers), it seems increasingly unlikely I will be able to connect my line into the larger MD Savin history but you never know... I have thoroughly exhausted all the normal research sources.
