GREENWICH: Thomas L. Ehler, age 71, of Greenwich, Ohio died Thursday, September 6, 2012 at Stein Hospice in Sandusky, Ohio (Erie County) after a brief illness.
He was born November 23, 1940 in West Alexandria, Ohio, (Preble County) son of the late Paul and Ivis Maude (Enzor) Ehler.
Tom moved to Greenwich, Ohio in 1943. He was a 1958 graduate of Greenwich High School.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1958-1965. Tom worked for Gorman Rupp in Mansfield, Ohio for 34 years.
He is survived by his wife, Erika G. (Anhoff) Ehler, whom he married December 1, 1961; daughters, Mary Slone and her friend Paul Shine of Greenwich and Nancy (Scott) Somsak of Willard, Ohio; grandchildren, Mike Slone, Matthew Slone and his fiancé Nicole Hale of Greenwich, Jenna Somsak of Willard; brother, Daniel (Rosalee) Ehler of Oberlin, OH; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Ehler; and his brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Gayle Ehler.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Monday, September 10, 2012 at the Eastman Funeral Home, 49 West Main St., Greenwich where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday with Chaplain David Detwiler officiating.
Burial will take place at a later date. Memorials if desired may be given to Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, Ohio 44870.
