I am researching the Ehalt lineage. I have traced Ehalts from Bavaria to Brazil, the US and Canada. I would love to receive any all all information that any Ehalt descendent might have as I would like to compile a book.

We are currently trying to find out farther back about the Maas generations and our family decended from the Ehalt's. I would be interested in any information you might have on the Ehalt's, also. We know a Karl Ehalt born on December 12, 1841 in Norbach, Baiern and passed away on February 26, 1921 in St. Bonifacius, Minnesota.

I am not familiar with the Ehalt you mentioned. I have recently initiated an Ehalt Web site at MyFamily.com that is for Ehalt Families Around the World. If you will email me at rquinn@nicoh.com and provide your email address I can send you, or anyone else who reads this, a password and username to gain entrance into the site. I am putting everything I have ever acquired that pertains to Ehalt, Ahalt, Ehehalt, Ehahalt. So far, I have invited about 150 people sharing the Ehalt name in some way to visit and contribute to the site.

I was wondering if you found any more information on who Charles Ehalt's parents were. My grandmother was his
daughter Frances Ehalt, and I now live in the house that
she owned in St. Bonifacius.

I have not found any new information in the past two years that would help me connect Ehalt lineages. Sometimes I have to give the research a rest and look at other lines then go back to the original one later with a fresh new perspective.

Unfortunately, I was unable to find any additional information. Frances, I believe, was my great-grandmother. If we are talking about the same house, I was there when I was a child and remember it well. My father, who would then be your cousin, is my father Lawrence (AKA Larry). I'm sorry I can't shed any additional information, but came upon a dead-end after finding Charles. Maybe with additional research we can continue to look for it, but it may be a challenge...
Thanks!

My grandfather was Carl Alvin Ehalt who grew up in St. Bonifacious, MN. His mother's name was Mary, but I can't remember his father's name at the moment and don't have time right now to look for it but I will try to find it. Anyway, Carl Alvin Ehalt - who went by the name Al, married Eleanora Theissen and moved to Canada in the 1920s and then returned to St. Boni after the death of Eleanora with three of his four children. His four children are: Peter, Ferdie, Marie and Joseph (my father). These four children were all born in Canada. Pete still lives in Spalding, Saskatchewan on the family farm and his 4 children are in Canada. Ferdie (4 children) and Marie (7 children) and their families are still in Minnesota, in and around St. Boni. Joseph moved to Kansas in 1968 and he has seven children of which I am the oldest (6 girls and 1 boy). You can email me at heymsk@cox.net but I won't be able to answer you for a few days as I am studying for my doctoral prelim exams which I take tomorrow and Friday (March 9 and 10, 2006).

I have just acquired a primary math learning book at an antique sale. Inside is the name Jacob Ehalt, book published in 1878. Jacob's name is signed in book (as well as printed) and the date "September 20, 1881".
I would like to know more about the child/adult named Jacob that once owned this book. I purchased the book in Portland OR.
Thank you,
S Lee
