Hello, I received a couple of inquiries about the same Egnews in June. Below is the research that I shared with the addition of a couple of new things:

Francis (Frank) Egnew was born in Ireland:
SC Naturalizations, Chester County Records 1783 - 1850: page 125: Petition of Francis Egnew, a native of Ireland, residing in the US since September 1789... 1 Nov 1810.

He married Nancy Polley, the daughter of Thomas Polley. Francis was one of the Executors of Thomas Polley's estate in Fairfield County, SC in 1811. A transcribed version of the will can be found on the website of the SC Dept. of Archives and History, and images of the original can be found at the FamilySearch website. Both are free.

In 1809 Francis Egnew of Fairfield County, SC purchases 150 ac. from John Coulter of Chester County, SC

Frank Egnew p271

Francis dies in 1817 (intestate) and William Egnew and Robert Polley (Nancy's brother) are the Administrators of his estate. His estate papers are found on FamilySearch. No will makes it difficult to tie children to him.

Next on page is Claiborne Trussell

From the above census ages, Nancy was born between 1781-1784. Francis has only one census to go by.

Nancy moves to Henry County, GA. She is listed on the Tax Digest of that county in 1837 as owning almost 300 ac. Fortunately, that digest is not alphabetized as are others and we can see that Claiborne Trussell is listed just before her on the page, suggesting an association.

I have not checked the estate records of Henry County, GA. William Egnew's (Francis' brother most likely) estate records are in Jasper County, GA, where he and wife Mary moved about 1824 (from Chester County, SC).

If you have any information beyond the above, please share.
