Hi! Got an e mail from Ancestry.com with your reply to my e mail from 3 years ago!!! Anyway, as far as we know, the spelling in my family is Egnasko. However, last summer I met two young men from Poland here on a work visa and I showed them the info on my grandfather i.e. hometown etc. Although the census I found ( I believe it was the 1930 census) listed the country of origin as Poland, the two Polish guys I met said the town I showed them was in Austria, not Poland. I recall my mother telling me that her father was Austrian, not Polish. The borders seemed to move from week to week, apparently. So you might want to research in that direction and see if you can find anything. The name of the place was Halychyon, Galychnya Poland. I don't know if those two names translate to city, county, state or what but anyway that is what I found. Please e mail me and let me know if you have any luck....it certainly is NOT a common name ! Best wishes and good luck.....
