I too have very fond memories of my childhood days at Egberts Lake. We camped there in the late 1970's to early portion of the 1980's. We were campsite campers (trailer style). We started on the lake side before they turned that into picnic grounds. Our trailer was parked pretty darn close to the good old cabbage house ... which when I was there was more of an arcade ... especially on the lower level that opened up to the lake/small beach. We used to ride tubes from tractor trailers down the hill into the lake. I remember I couldn't wait until I was old enough to be allowed to swim to the dock. Such fond memories. My older cousins were there throughout the 1970s. I remember always looking up to the "big" kids ... Pugzley was the name of one. Not sure if that's how it was spelled ... it sounded like that though. I often think of Egberts when I smell a campfire burning. LOVE IT. Love and miss those days. To good old Egberts lake and all the good people who camped there!! The picture I attached was our first campsite by the lake ... I think when they were adding sand to the beach they accidentally dumped sand in our campsite ... my sister and I loved it and played in it the entire summer.
