hello peter,
wow, its been quite a few years since i wrote on this message board. i hope you can still get to this site. i just found out yesterday that the full name of my maternal great-grandfather was VICTOR MANUEL EGAS who was born in Quito, 1874, left sometime in the first decade of the 1900's to Turin, Italy where he learned the priesthood. he came to the USA in 1909 and was naturalized in Texas in 1918. his father was SEVERO EGAS from SPAIN. when i wrote my book the immigration records only had a "VICTOR M. EGAS" and i did not know that this was my ancestor. on another entry into the USA in 1913 Victor came with ROSALIA TRIGO de EGAS and she was going to visit LOUIS A. EGAS where Victor lived in Gonzales Texas. any of this sound familiar? it was my grandpa AGUSTINE T. EGAS, born in Guayaquil 1898, who came over to the USA in the 1920's. let me know if you have any connections with these families. russell (is at
