My father, an only son, (1903-1949) was Howard Egan: he was the only son of Jack (John?) Egan who was some kind of ward politician in Chicago in the early 1900s. We believe he was born in Chicago in 1861, but can go back no farther than that. Family legend has it that Jack, too, was an only son. FYI: My father had one son, my brother, Jack, and he has one son: Sean.

He was my Great Great Great Grandfater. My Grand father is Howard Erastus Egan. His father was Erastus Howard Egan. Let me know if this helps. I don't have all the info right now, but can get it for you

Major Howard's parents were Howard Egan and Ann Meade. Howard's gfather was Bernard and gmother Betty. Our family history states that about 1823, his mom died and his dad took 8 of their children to Montreal, Canada. When his dad died in 1828, Howard went to sea until he was grown and settled in Massachusetts where he was a rope maker. I also would be interested in further information on this line.

David, My ggg grandfather Kieran Egan was born in 1815 in Kings Co. Ireland. He is listed on the LDS as a relative of Howard. Kieran's name has been mispelled and I am curious about a reply you got on the Bernard Betty. Hope to hear from you! Clare

I HAVEN'T RECEIVED ANY ANSWER TO BERNARD OR BETTY. HOW IS YOUR GGG GRANDFATHER RELATED TO HOWARD?
