Dear Joe,

I'm working around my maternal gg-grandmother Julia/Judith Egan ( born 1 May 1828 Ireland), who wed Dennis Flynn in 1850 Wakefield,Quebec, Canada. Their wedding entry says his parents Patrick Flynn and Honora Rice are from Co. Mayo ( Castlebar ). Julia Egan Flynn parents are Thomas Egan and a hard to read Selina/Sabina Welch/Walsh. Julia's brother James Egan is the witness, then I cannot find James or her parents again.

My DNA test with ancestry.com has hits for Sweeney, McGrath also. The Sweeney's were neighbors in Quebec too. One old Gannon tree from Canada actually has my Julia Egan as 'Julia Sweeney', but the author has passed leaving no sources.

My Dennis Flynn has a sister Ellen Flynn who weds a McAndrew in Quebec 1848. The McAndrews opened up an line of Barretts in Templeton from Ballina Co. Mayo with more Flynn connections.

A possible link has a Thomas Egan ( born ~ 1787 Co. Mayo) ,who wed Ann Welch in 1813 Ireland. Their daughter Mary Egan ( born 1814 Ireland) wed Martin Gannon in 1839 Aglish RC Parish, South Mayo. They also came to the town of Wakefield , Quebec Canada by 1850's.

I've been trying to find out if they are a cluster from Co. Mayo of Flynn, Egan, Sweeney, Gannon to Canada.

So many clues, but they are thrown at a brick wall !

Thanks for your time, Catherine
