Oh, yeah, I thought that might be the case when I saw something about Scott County, Virginia Egans. Actually I think many of these Elijah Egans are somehow related, but how I have yet to see. I have an Elijah Eagan still unaccounted for and also a Dennis Abraham Egan and John Egan. I found some of mine living for a short while in Connecticut of all places...why I don't know other than there was work at a shoe factory I think, but I figure there were also relatives there somewhere. This is a hard family to research, I think because they were basically farmers and factory workers and did not have much money and no fame to speak of. I have no family memorabilia handed down. My father died at 49 in a fire after the divorce. He was really no good. His father died at 60 of cancer (when he was 13) and his much younger mother remarried. They were both alcoholics. Any memorabilia such as letters and pics must have been handed down through other lines and I have yet to meet any other Eagan cousins online after 20 years of research. It's possible stuff was just trashed after people died. Oh, well...just gotta keep trying. Thanks and good luck to your research.
