No that was just family talk, but my parents divorced when my oldest sister was just 11 and we really knew very little about the Eagan side of the family. I've never found any link to an Indian heritage in my direct lines. I found a couple of mixed heritage marriages in cousins that may have set off the family rumors. My grandmother and father both looked exotic, having high cheekbones and a darker swarthier skin and black hair, but my grandmother was an Eisenbach/of German extraction and all the Eisenbachs in her line had black hair and darker skin tones (at least from what I could tell in pics). So that probably contributed to those family rumors. From what I can tell, Elijah Eagan/Egan, the immigrant was born in Ireland and married an Englishwoman (I think). Her name was Elizabeth Thayer and I've never found her parentage. Elijah got land in Canada for serving England in the 6th Regiment of Foot. That's about all I know, and that's from on his tombstone.
