Hello Frances,

I've just spotted your comments above. Your grandfather was George David Tynan? Did your grandfather have a sister called Francis Winifred (Winnie)? Winnie was my neighbour when I lived in Longsight, Manchester. As a young lad in the 1970s, I used to do errands for Winnie as well as help her around her house. She would often call into my mums for a brew now and again. Winnie passed away over Christmas 1979 and was buried the first week of January 1980. I wasn't allowed to attend her funeral as it was the week we went back to school but my mum and dad did. That was 34 years ago. I often thought about Winnie as she was a sweet and dear old lady. When the 1911 census was released, I researched some of my relatives, and I also searched for Winnie and found her birth place as well as her family. I also discovered were her grave was in Southern Cemetery, and so paid a visit. She is buried with your great grandmother Margaret Ellen. The grave was untended and had no gravestone. I've been tending it the last year or so, planted flowers and at Christmas I leave a miniature Christmas tree as Winnie did like Christmas! May I ask, do you have any photo's of Winnie or indeed any of her family, her brother or mum and dad? I have pictures of Winnie in my head, but would dearly love to see a real picture of her again! I can send you a picture of Winnies grave if you wish? My email address is tmjbyrne@gmail.com

Best regards,

Thomas
