Glenda, Remember me? We corresponded when I was living in Shreveport, LA, back in the 1980s. I'm back in Baton Rouge now (since 1983). My mom's paternal gf was John Brister Efferson (son of Geo & Eliz.) I'm still looking for more info on George but I did have a birthdate for him in 1803. Census records (probably - I'm doing this from memory) showed him listing himself as being born in Indian Nations, S.C. However, I also have him with the same birthdate born in Dublin, Ireland. This was found on one of the LDS World records CDs I found at the Baton Rouge branch of the library. I don't think it's online though. My mother has spoken of hearing that the Efferson name came from the Iverson line in Ireland & there are a number of George's descendents with the first name Iverson. The name Iverson in Ireland goes back to a Norwegian explorer name Ivar/Ivor who immigrated to Ireland very early (about 900 AD). No proof of this, of course, but another line of research. Also, I just learned that there are George Wilson's in the Brister line, which could mean that George & Elizabeth were kin (kissin' cousins?) of some kind. I'm waiting to hear back from someone researching Bristers if they know anything.
