Re: George Wilson Efferson
I did join rootsweb & a few boards like this one & a while back when I had more time did some searches on the usgenweb pages for different lines. Worldconnect has been the most useful to me, mostly because of being able to easily connect to others researching the same line(s). I've done a little on the LDS & Ellis Island sites, but most of my research is for other ports or prior to Ellis Island activity. I also got a line on Elizabeth Brister's family on the Brister message board. Her mother was named Susannah & she had a 1st cousin named George Wilson & her Uncle was named Wilson. I'm thinking that she & George E. could have been cousins or had some mutual relatives at least perhaps with the surname Wilson. I've been at my current job with a federal wetlands agency at LSU for 16 years in October so I still have about 10 years to put in but am looking forward to having more time for research. I was involved in organizing a big reunion for my paternal grandmother's line (Hartzog) all last year. My sister Judi is also doing research from her home in Anchorage, Alaska.

Earnest Efferson married Mary Tate. They had a son, Cline Elmo Efferson, Sr. born on 17 Apr 1914 He died in May 1958. Cline Elmo Efferson, Jr. was born on 5 Aug 1939, and he died on 1 July 1985.
