Jeanne:
I have a copy of the book you mentioned, also some info from another book the author wrote. Her name C W Dauner. She died several years ago. I have quite a bit of information on the Efaw line. Jacob as you know from the book was a son of the oldest Efaw, to my knowledge, anyone has found. And again to my knowledge although it does not seem possible all the Efaws are descendant from David and Catherine. There are Efaws all over the US I even have contact with one in Alaska. There is an Efaw on the Vietnam Wall in DC. Lived here in Waynesburg, PA By the way I live in Greene County PA. My fondest wish is to find were the Efaws came from and the orginal spelling of our name. Any Efaw I would be willing to bet has had mail junk or otherwise with the name misspelled. Like EFOW, EFAU etc. So you can imagine what could and did take place regardng the spelling of Efaw back when a lot of people had very little education if at all.
It is a shame that we serious researchers can not join together and pool our information so that time is not wasted on going over what has already be researched. To my mind the area that needs researched more is the time period before and up to the Revolutionary War. Our David joined the Rev. army in 1783 at the age of 18. This puts his birthdate about 1765. He said in PA. I am almost 75 now and by myself so I no longer take trips to research. I get quite a few query's asking for information. But it would be very helpful if we could pool our info and possibly find someone, say living in Eastern PA or New Jersey who could research the PA archives.
let me hear from you
