Saw your posting and enjoyed the information. My 3 great grandmother was Amanda Harris, a founding member of the Presbyterian Church in Keatchie. Later Rev. Eells performed the wedding (elopement) ceremony for Evelyn Fullilove (her granddaughter) and Ernst Schuler in an apple orchard in St. Alban, WV.

Thanks for your comment! Good for Edward Eells to have officiated at an elopement wedding! Elopements are almost guaranteed to indicate that the couples truly love each other. Please see two documents I have posted about the Eells family:

(1) http://freepages.history.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~garyscottcol.... An account by Minnie Eells (daughter of Richard Eells) of happenings in Keatchie during the Civil War, including contacts with the family of John Dillard Collins, a gg-grandfather of mine.

(2) http://freepages.history.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~garyscottcol.... A chronology of the family of Richard Eells.
