I am looking for any information on the following story in Virginia.
JOHN EDY came to Virginia around 1700 or so, as an indentured servant of Col. Carter of the Northern Neck Agency. On John's arrivial to Virginia he promised the said Col. Carter that he would pay him for his passage to America. John Edy never kept his promise and was huled in the Hoscow (Jail) and his carpenter tools were sole to settled his debt. When John was released he and about 250 Scotsman left the Northern Neck of virginia and settled on the West side of Round Hill, Virginia because the area looked most like their homeland of Scotland. I am looking for any infomration about this person in question and his family because the area that he settled in is not far from Frederick co., Va. where my Eddy line come from and I feel that there just might have ben a two known sons born to John Edy, who ere James Reuben Eddy and John Joseph Eddy both of Frederick Co., Va. with the latter removing to Ohio with his family. Hope to hear something soon. Thanks Nelson Eddy
