Classification: Query
Surnames: Edwards, Hall, Cullin/Cuelin, Downing, MacBriar, Daiel, Henckell/Jenkins, Mutlow, Acorn, Moore, Wynne
My gen chart shows Capt Thomas Edwards b 1723, m Catherine MacBriar. His parents are listed as Thomas Edwards b 1691 & Isabella Downing b 1692.

As so many Edwards and Hall families and descendants were contacted as part of the NY Manhatten fraud scheme, it is very hard to distinquish what is fact and what is fiction.

Does anyone have any personally researched & or confirmed information on Sir Thomas Edwards and Lady Isabella Downing Edwards, their ancestors and descendants. The prefixes seem to indicate that they were landowners or knighted by a British Royal.

Am particulary interested in the line of Capt Thomas Edwards b 1723, who may have m Catherine MacBriar.
This is supposed to be my husbands line. The family came to Colonial America and were known to have been on the British Side of the American Revolutionary War. Loyalists at the end of the war, migrated to areas in what is now Canada. St John's (Now Prince Edward) Island, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia etc. Others returned to their native lands. My reseach indicates Edwards in Wales or England in the 1600's; Female descendants in New York & New England in the early 1700's, then Prince Edward Island later 1700's - late 1800's, back to New England in the early 1900's.
Looking for the TRUTH not money.
Please share. Willing to do same.
