Pat, this is a tuff one. When I was looking for my Edward H, I found 3 of them in Stokes Co. 2 had been in the civil war (south) one i believe was the son of the other one. My Edward H was born in 1841 to Squire Madison(Sam) Edwards and Jane Darnell. Squire was b. in 1812 to John Henry Edwardsand Elizabeth (Barnes). Squires family moved to Richmond KY. Squire had a son William M. His other children were Martin, Squire, John, Auguste, Daniel, Betty, Tempest, Mark, Ann and Margaret. Squire also had an Uncle Edward who would have been born abt. 1794 (?) in orange co.nc Squire may havealso had a brother named Edward, but i have not comfirmed this.
My Edward H. married a girl named Lucy he fought in the civil war (south) the other edward also has a civil war record (south) I will try to find my records on him. they will come together at some point. let me know if any of this rings a bell, kathy
