John was listed as a son in the work of Jean Durret which is deposited in the library in Springfield, Robertson Co., TN. She also gave his birth date as 1778.

In 1802, both John and William EDWARDS were witnesses to the Will of Peter Farrar in Chatham Co., N.C. Peter Farrar was the father of Thomas who married Alcy EDWARDS, d/o William and Rebecca Brewer.

1820 census of Robertson Co., TN - Springfield:
John EDWARDS 100010-30100 John is 26-45 and his wife is 16-25. The 1778 birth date given for him does fit within this range.
He is listed on the same page as Oliver EDWARDS, p. 15.

1830 census of Robertson Co., TN:
John EDWARDS 00011001-00010001 John and his wife are both 50-59. The age for his wife does not agree with the 1820 census in which the oldest female is no older than 25.
The family is listed on the same page as Oliver EDWARDS.

I believe John died after 1830 and before 1837. (My Opinion)

There is no mention of John in the Will of his father, William, in Robertson Co., TN in 1837.
