I recently found this man's pension papers, as well as his wife, Cyntha Herrington,(My 4th GGrandparents) Over 100 pages.I discovered he was "accidently" wounded by a bayonet, today we call it friendly fire. He mentions one brother by name, James of Farmington, Ontario,New York. They both got quite the run around from the government, it is an awesome source. Some people mentioned, Harvey Kibbe, John Phillips, Alexander Ewing, Norman Hardy to name a few. His captain has affidavits , not so respectable. His lawyer, related to Captain Hull, who ends up with a guilty conscience, and I think I heard a vague threat to the commissioner of pensions. No names mentioned for parents. I see no mention of a Charles or Rueben in their children names and birthdates. (Maybe from another family record I am not aware of?) Also the name of the person who married them, I am still trying to decipher that. Happy reading!
