JONES, Ellen Grace Edgcumbe passed away at the Beechwood Home for Incurables in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was 67 years of age.
Ellen was born in Woodbury, New Jersey in 1946, the third child of Charles Diehl Edgcumbe and Mary Celeste Twells Edgcumbe.
Ellen was a graduate of Woodbury High School, where she was captain of the drill team and also a graduate of Elizabethtown College in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania, where she earned a B.S. in Mathematics.
Thereafter, she was recruited by NCR to work in Dayton, Ohio as a program analyst and educator from 1968-1993.
Ellen dedicated her life to her 3 daughters.
Her children would like Ellen to be remembered as a woman of tremendous love, strength and courage. She possessed a fierce intellect, quick wit, and unyielding spirit.
Ellen was an extraordinary mother who was a source of light and wisdom for her family.
She is survived by three daughters, Rachel Hilderbrand (Matt Desorcy), Hannah Gleason (Todd Gleason), Mara Jones (Bill Hanson); three granddaughters, Caitlin Hilderbrand, Abigail Gleason, and Samantha Hanson; two sisters, Dale Wilson and Mary Levis; and one brother, Thomas Edgcumbe; seven nieces and nephews and eight great-nieces and nephews.
On Tuesday, November 26, 2013, the family will be receiving visitors at 2:00 p.m. and a memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m. at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME - BEAVERCREEK , Ohio CHAPEL, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Road at Grange Hall Rd.
